"I suppose we could have pushed for Maliki to leave earlier, but you're dealing with a country with a long history of anti-colonial struggle." Much to agree with, but did we colonize Iraq? No. Did we free the Iraqi citizens and empower Iraqi women outside the colonial model? Yes. Did we step back and allow self rule while offing physiological support outside the colonial model? Yes. Did we renege on that psychological support and damage Iraq in the ways similar to the way colonialism damaged Iraq? Unfortunately yes.
